About

I’m originally from California and grew up there and in Hawaii. I spent a couple of years in the Inland Northwest pursing an MFA in creative writing before I spent a few years living in Japan, the culmination of a boyhood dream of “touch my roots.” Actually two dreams, since I also received my shodan in aikido while I was there.

Currently, I live in the Boston area with my wife, Becky, and our daughter, Maya, and our son, Sam. We are working on not only raising a happy and healthy family, but building a “Jew-panese” culture for Maya and Sam to grow up in.

I still practice aikido and have added t’ai chi ch’uan to my martial arts interests.

More on all of this as we go along.
